For this soundscape project, I want to paint a picture for those listening of what a day skate boarding with friends could be like. I had a blast doing this especially trying to narrate what is going on with other people sounds. The day basically starts out quietly as someone is getting up, making food, and calling their friends to ask if they want to skate! After that, this person gets in the car and drives to where ever everyone is going to meet as they change the radio channels in the car. Next, I incorporated some skate sounds and some reactions to someone landing something. After this, I started to use the car as a transition from moving place to place so the next stop is the drive through to get some lunch. Shortly after the drive through I used some footsteps, water, and wind like they are walking to a smoke spot where they do indeed smoke a joint or something. This was super fun to layer and combine sounds so it really feels like you're outside. After this, The skating continues but leads into some struggles with tricks and then the sound of breaking a skateboard. This is when the day ends and the person hops back in the car, drives home, opens the door, hangs up their clothes and washes up for the night! I think what really worked and was fun to do was this sort of narrative style of a day skating through more sounds than just skateboarding. I didn't want to make it too repetitive. I also think the fade in and fade outs helped a lot with transitions as well as the car starting to indicate the next section of activities. One thing I could have improved on honestly was adding some more warped and adjusted audio. I feel like I could've made this far more interesting and could potentially represent the emotions and physical trauma of skateboarding!
